ABOUT

Garlic is related to the same family as onions and chive. The vegetable consists of a single bulb, which is home to a number of small segments which are packaged in a type of paper skin. These segments are also referred to as cloves. Garlic can be peeled, ground or cut and is one of the most frequently used products in the kitchen.

PREPARATION

In most cases the loose segments will be used by separating them from the bulb. The paper-like skin is usually removed. The segments can be used in their entirety, or cut, ground, pressed or crushed. Garlic needs to be stored in a dry and cool place: absolutely not in the fridge!
