GREEN PEPPER

ABOUT

The green pepper is really a pepper which has been picked before it’s ripe. This is why this pepper is a little less spicy than peppers which have already ripened. Green peppers usually find their way into curries and chilli con carne. Spiciness: approximately 15.000 to 20.000 Scoville units.

PREPARATION

Buy shiny, unblemished peppers with a fresh and undamaged stalk. Wash the peppers before use and remove the stalk. If the pepper isn’t being cooked in its entirety, half the pepper in length with a knife and scrape out the seeds. Cut the pepper into slices for further use. The green pepper can be stored in the fridge for up to a week. Green peppers are also suitable for freezing for long periods of time.
