MARACUJA

ABOUT

The maracuja has a yellowy-green, leathery skin and is related to the passion fruit. The fruit contains orangey-yellow flesh, with a jelly-like structure and small, edible seeds. The Maracuja has a sweet taste.

PREPARATION

The Maracuja can be eaten out of the hand by cutting the fruit through the centre and scooping it out. The skin isn’t edible. The maracuja can also be used in juices and fruit salads. A ripe maracuja is yellow and is best stored in the fridge. An unripe maracuja will ripen best at room temperature.
