ABOUT

The parsnip is a white carrot measuring 20 centimetres in length. The carrot has a sweet aniseed flavour. The parsnip’s taste will become more intense during periods of frost. The parsnip is a versatile winter vegetable and is often used in hotpots, stews and soups.

PREPARATION

Wash the parsnip well before use. The parsnip can subsequently be eaten raw or can be boiled, baked, roasted and used in soups or stews. The skin is very flavoursome. A parsnip will quickly become soft. Therefore make sure you store the parsnip in the fridge and consume within a few days.
