ABOUT

The rambutan has a red and prickly skin. The flesh is transparent or light pink and tastes sweet. The brown seed is not edible. The rambutan is eaten out of the hand or can also be used as an ingredient for fruit salads.

PREPARATION

A rambutan is ripe when the skin is red. The hairy prickles may be a little darker in colour. The rambutan can be eaten out of the hand by peeling the skin off the fruit. The seed in the centre is not edible.
