ABOUT

The rawit pepper is a small, narrow pepper with red or green skin. It’s an incredibly hot pepper. The pepper is usually used as an ingredient for making sambal or boemboe (an Indonesian herb mixture) and is usually cooked in its entirety. Spiciness: approximately 75.000 Scoville units.

PREPARATION

Wash the peppers before use and remove the stalk. If the pepper isn’t being cooked in its entirety, half the pepper in length with a knife and scrape out the seeds. Cut the pepper into slices for further use. The rawit pepper can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.
