ABOUT
The salak has reddish-brown, scaly skin and is also known as the ‘snake fruit’. The juicy flesh is yellow-white and tastes sweet. The seeds are not edible. The salak is usually eaten out of the hand and can be used as an ingredient for salads.

PREPARATION
The fruit can be peeled by squeezing in the point at the tip of the fruit and pulling this off the fruit. This also allows for the remainder of the skin to be easily removed. The salak can be stored in the fridge for several days.
